Sticky Tofu

This Tofu tastes delicious and is super easy to make! I always keep some Tofu on hand for an emergency week night meal. It uses pantry ingredients and is perfect for Meatless Monday’s as well. It has umami, sweetness and some spice. This one is definitely a crowd pleaser! It can be served on top of a bed of rice, with a side of veggies or over rice.


  • 1 block of Extra Firm Tofu- cubed
  • 1 tsp of Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp of oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Sticky Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup of Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp of minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp of minced Ginger
  • 2 tsp of Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 cup of Lemon juice
  • 2 tsp of Hoison Sauce
  • 1 tsp of Sesame oil
  • 2 tsp of Honey


1). Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit

2). In a large mixing bowl, add in the salt, black pepper, oil and baking powder.

3). Place the tofu on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place it in the oven for 30 minutes and flip the tofu at the half way point.

4). In a medium sauce pan, on medium high heat, add in Sesame oil and the minced garlic and ginger. Saute until everything browns.

5). Add in the rest of the sauce ingredients and allow it to thicken slightly; this will take about 5 minutes.

6). Once Tofu has crisped up in the oven, allow it to cool and then toss it with the sticky sauce. Allow the sauce to cut each and every piece of tofu.

7). Enjoy and top with cilantro, green onions and sesame seeds.
