These are delicious, healthy and textually very pleasing. Try switching out your fries to this healthier alternative! They are super crunch and have a subtle natural spiciness from the turnip. Turnips contain fewer calories per serving than potatoes — 18 calories per cup of cubed turnip, compared with 59 for russet potatoes. I highly recommend this guilt free snack!
-4 Turnips, evenly cubed ( no need to peel)
-2 tsp of Olive Oil
-1 tsp of Salt
-1 tsp of Black Pepper
-1 tsp of Garlic Powder
-1 tsp of Baking Powder
1). Preheat your oven to 465 degrees Farenheit.
2). Mix together all of your spices, oil and Turnips.
3). Place on 2 parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, flipping the turnips at the half way mark ( 12ish minutes). You’ll want to make sure that none of the Turnips are touching so that they will roast vs steam. You do not need the parchment paper but I like to use it for easier clean up.
4). After 25 minutes, take out both trays and let them cool for 10 minutes.
5). Enjoy with some ketchup !
